Our tour will begin at exactly 10:00. Our meeting point will be at the Coral Restaurant in Baghdad. There you will have the opportunity to eat Breakfast. We will then take a private coach to our first site of our tour, The National Iraq Museum. Throughout the tour the Museum, we will broadly look into the exhibits of the history of Mesopotamia to have a conceptual understanding of Ancient Mesopotamia during the three day tour. However, due to time management, we will be unable to observe the entire Museum. Therefore, we will only be observing the Old Museum’s Ground Floor and First Floor. This will take approximately 2 hours. We will then allow you to observe an exhibit of choice for around 30 minutes before we take off to our next site. After these last 30 minutes we will be taking a private coach to Ancient Babylon. It is an expected 1hr and 23min ride without traffic.
Once we arrive in Babylon, we will stop by our second site of our guided tour, the Etemenanki Ziggurat (Tower of Babel). We will spend 1 hour at this site. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants within a close range of the location, therefore we will provide you with a packed lunch. If possible, we will eat lunch at the top of the ziggurat, however, it is most unlikely due to preserving this ancient structure of the ziggurat. Otherwise, we will eat during our 16 minute walk to our third destination of our Guided Tour, the Palace of Nebuchadnezzar II.
At our third destination, we will spend 30 minutes to an hour at the Nebuchadnezzar II Palace. We will then allow you to freely observe the other ruins of Ancient Babylon, however, we recommend within a close range of the site. We will then walk to our final site of the day, the Ishtar Gate. This will only require around a 5 minute walk.
Once we reach the Ishtar Gate, and you have had the opportunity to observe the ancient structure, we will give you the rest of the afternoon to roam around the ancient city of Babylon. Our first day of the Guided Tour will come to an end at around 20:00. Our private coach will then drive you to a nearby hotel known as the Babyl Hotel approximately 16 minutes away. We will gladly drive you to any restaurant within the perimeters of the hotel. This will then be the end of your first day of the Mesopotamia Guided Tour.
